In this 30-minute adaptation of Cinderella written by Liz Morgan, Cinderella finds her way to the American Palace ball but after staying past midnight, she ends up losing her status, undocumented and trapped in a place where she has no rights. Through this dark comedy, we learn that for our protagonist, the pursuit of life and liberty is a difficult series of cruel tests much like a fairy tale but not the kind with a happy ending.

The launch for its 60th anniversary Free Shakespeare in the Park season was co-hosted by the gala's co-chairs Mercedes Bass, Jason Blum, Lauren Shumaker Blum, and Julio Peterson, and featured appearances by Lin-Manuel Miranda, and by Danai Gurira, who will star as Richard III in this summer's Shakespeare in the Park production.

Off-Broadway's The Public Theater hosted its Gala on the Green at Central Park's Delacorte Theater May 24. The event starred a line-up of performances by stage alums such as Renée Elise Goldsberry, Oscar Isaac, Norm Lewis, Kimber Elayne Sprawl, Jina Brass Band, and Rich Medina.

First event with The Public Theater, I formed part of the backstage team that did scene changes in between speeches and performances, cueing guests and artists to the stage.
